Dale Cornelius has spent years scoring worlds for other people — galaxies in IMAX, deep oceans, quiet human dramas. But this new album feels different. It’s the first time he’s let memory and lived experience guide the music instead of a script.

Early listeners have reacted like they’ve stumbled into something intimate. Deutsche Grammophon’s Anusch Alimirzaie called it “truly beautiful.” Christian Kellersman said simply, “It’s beautiful.” Marina Guy in London described it as “stunning.”

To bring the album into the real world, Cornelius is building a 55‑minute live experience: one continuous performance where a string quartet, keyboards, spoken word, and shifting light fold into each other. It’s designed to travel — local quartets, local voices, local languages — but always the same emotional arc.

The tracklist reads almost like a journal: In This Moment, What Matters Most? What is Carried, What is Left Behind? Innocence A Whispered Dawn (Spencer’s Lullaby) Under an Impersonal Sky There is Hope Bloom

Cornelius created it with Eclective Strings, a Melbourne ensemble whose members have played everywhere from Hans Zimmer Live to Yo‑Yo Ma collaborations. Together, they’ve built something that feels less like a score and more like a memory unfolding.
